La forest resplendeix amb insòlita claror reblerta de tu; a cada fulla, a cada font ombrívola, es representa la teva imatge. Romanc feliç, xamosa, on tu des del tossal davalles surant, lleugera, com un pètal de rosa que tremola al pas de les ales del zèfir. Allà, a la petita cabana, he guarnit per a tu, envoltat de la vermellor del capvespre, amb vinca i rebrots de flors novelles, el teu barret de palla. A cada lluerna que veies, a les clivelles del rocam, com si les fades formessin allà una dansa, cridaves plena de delit: Que bonic! Que bonic! Arreu on miro, arreu on vaig, hi albiro sempre l'esplanada de gespa, on vèiem la neu de les muntanyes il•luminada de besllum purpuri. Filomela cantava plorant la seva melodiosa cançó de maig a la vora del bosc; allà és on et vaig suplicar, amb l'esguard de l'ànima sencera: recorda't de mi!
