O, Herr und Vater der Natur,
Dir tön' auch mein Gesang!

Der Lebensfreuden schenkst du viel
Dem, der sich weislich freut;
Dies sei, o Vater, stets das Ziel
Bei meiner Fröhlichkeit.

Ich kann mich noch des Lebens freu'n
In dieser schönen Welt,
Mein Herz soll dem geheiligt seyn
Der weislich sie erhält.

Wenn dann mir Müden winkt der Tod
Zur bessern Welt zu gehn;
So bricht ein schön'res Morgenroth
Mir an beim Auferstehn.

que el meu cant ressoni també per a tu.

Tu dónes moltes joies de la vida
a aquell que assenyadament ho celebra.
Que això sigui sempre, oh Pare, l’objectiu
de la meva alegrança.

Encara puc gaudir de la vida
en aquest món tan formós,
el meu cor estarà consagrat
a aquell que sàviament el conserva.

Quan després, rendit, la mort em faci senyals
per anar a un món millor,
una alba més formosa trencarà
per a mi, a la resurrecció.
