by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926)

Andere müssen auf langen Wegen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Andere müssen auf langen Wegen
zu den dunklen Dichtern gehn;
fragen immer irgendwen,
ob er nicht einen hat singen sehn
oder Hände auf Saiten legen.
Nur die Mädchen fragen nicht,
welche Brücke zu Bildern führe;
lächeln nur, lichter als Perlenschnüre,
die man an Schalen von Silber hält.

Aus ihrem Leben geht jede Türe
in einen Dichter
und in die Welt.
