I’ve no one of my own
Language: English  after the Occitan
I’ve no one of my own, I’m just a shepherd;
if I had [such a] one, I’d be faithful;
if I had [such a] one who loved me best,
with kisses, with flowers, I’d cover [her]!
On the bridge at Entraygo are two birds,
they only sing for those in love;
if this is true, they’ll sing
for the girl who’ll be with me!
In the fields of Endoun are pretty flowers;
they’re blue, red, and all the colors of the rainbow;
I shall go to collect them,
and bring them to my girlfriend!
Translator's note for line 3-2: Literally: “and of all colors”
