Eifersucht
Language: Swabian (Schwäbisch)
Available translation(s): ENG
E bissele Lieb und
e bissele Treu,
und e bissele Falschheit
ist alleweil derbei.
Die Kirsche send zeitig,
die Kirsche send gut,
und wenns Mädle vorbei goht,
so lupft mers de Hut.
Do drunte-n-im Thäle
gehts Bächle so trüb,
und i kann ders net hehle,
i han de so lieb.
Wenn i wisperl, wenn i schrei,
und du hörst me net glei,
so muß i verstehn,
daß i weiter soll gehn.
Und wenn i ders zehnmal sag,
daß i de lieb,
und du geist mer koi Antwort,
so wird mers ganz trüb.

Jealousy
Language: English  after the Swabian (Schwäbisch)
A little love and
A little truth
And a little deceit
Are always present in everything.
The cherries are fresh,
The cherries are good,
And whenever the girl passes,
I tip my hat.
Down there in the valleys
Run streams so murky.
But I can’t steal away there,
I’m too much in love.
Whether I whisper, or shout,
You don’t pay attention to me.
I should just accept,
That I should go on my way.
And when I tell you for the tenth time,
That I love you,
And you give me no answer,
My life becomes murky.
