by Aleksandr Sergeyevich Pushkin (1799 - 1837)

Ja videl smert'; ona v molčan'i sela
Language: Russian (Русский)
Ja videl smert'; ona v molčan'i sela
U mirnogo porogu moego;
JA videl grob; otkrylas' dver' ego;
             Duša, pomerknuv, ochladela...
             Pokinu skoro ja druzej,
             I žizni gorestnoj moej
             Nikto sledov už ne primetit;
             Poslednij vzor moich očej
             Luča bessmertija ne vstretit,
I pogasajuščij svetil'nik junych dnej
        Ničtožestva spokojnyj mrak osvetit.

        ........................................

Prosti, pečal'nyj mir, gde temnaja stezja
             Nad bezdnoj dlja menja ležala -
Gde vera tichaja menja ne utešala,
             Gde ja ljubil, gde mne ljubit' nel'zja!

Prosti, svetilo dnja, prosti, nebes zavesa,
Nemaja noči mgla, dennicy sladkij čas,
Znakomye cholmy, ruč'ja pustynnyj glas,
        Bezmolvie tainstvennogo lesa,
             I vsë. . . . prosti v poslednij raz.

A ty, kotoraja byla mne v mire bogom,
Predmetom tajnych slez i gorestej zalogom,
Prosti! minulo vsë..... Už gasnet plamen' moj,
             Schožu ja v chladnuju mogilu,
             I smerti sumrak rokovoj
S mučen'jami ljubvi pokroet žizn' unylu.

A vy, druz'ja, kogda lišennyj sil,
Edva dyša, v boleznennom boren'i,
Skažu ja vam: ,,O druga! ja ljubil!...``
I tichoj duch umret v iznemožen'i,
Druz'ja moi, - togda podite k nej:
Skažite: vzjat on večnoj t'moju...
I, možet byt', ob učasti moej
Ona vzdochnet nad urnoj grobovoju.
