Ne pronyže mene ïï pohljad palkyj, 
I na serci na dni ne zahoït' nichto 
Prevelykiï rany moï! 

Zrozumila vona, na vsim sviti odna,
Mij neduh i pečal', i pekel'nyj toj žal', 
Ščo povik ne pokyne mene... 

I mij sum i nud'hu rozdiljala vona, 
I kochannjam svoïm skil'ky raz, o, svjata, 
Žyttja nove vlyvala v mene! 

A teper? Ni, ne ždy! Ty ne pryjdeš sjudy... 
Serce zmovkny moje, starych ran ne budy!
