by Mikola Kindratovich Vorony (1871 - 1938)

Do morja
Language: Ukrainian (Українська)
Čolom tobi, synje, šyrokeje more!
Nezhlybna bezodne, bezmežnyj prostore,
    Mohutnjaja sylo — čolom!
Dyvljus' ja na tebe i ne nadyvljusja,
Dumkamy skorjajus', dušeju moljusja,
    Spivaju velyčnyj psalom.

Micne, neoborne!.. Ni hromu, ni chmary
Ne strašno tobi, ne boïšsja ty kary —
    Samo sobi vyščyj zakon.
Zvablyve, rozkišne!.. V tobi j rajuvannja,
I mrija solodka, i vticha kochannja,
    I ljubyj ta lahidnyj son.

Pryjšov ja do tebe zmarnilyj ta bidnyj,
Prote ne čužyj, ale blyz'kyj ta ridnyj,
    Tobi-bo viddavna ja svij.
I os' ja z toboju dušeju zlyvajus',
V prostori blakytnim na chvyljach hojdajus',
    Vtopaju v bezodni tvoïj!..

Jak ty — neosjažne, chytke, tajemnyče,
Jak ty — čarivlyve, jak ty — buntivnyče,
    Taka ž i duša u spivcja;
Tomu i do tebe vona tak prychyl'na,
Ščo put i kajdaniv ne znosyt' — i vil'na
    Burchaje, jak ty bez kincja.
