  В могилу к востоку лицом. 
Над домом Зюлейки там кедры, платаны
  Раскинуты пышным шатром. 
В тени их Зюлейка, быть может, мечтает 
  О верном, далеком певце. 
Быть может заплачет при вести о скорбном 
  Его безразсудном конце. 
Ах, имя мое она шепотом грустно 
  При звездах в тиши назовет.
От радости вновь оживу я в могиле 
  От счастья вновь сердце замрет.
