Trame de fils d'argent le manteau bleu du ciel.
Du jardin de mon cœur qu'un rêve lent enivre
S'envolent mes désirs sur les pas du matin,
Comme un essaim léger qu'à l'horizon de cuivre,
Appelle un chant plaintif, éternel et lointain.
Ils volent à tes pieds, astres chassés des nues,
Exilés du ciel d'or où fleurit ta beauté
Et, cherchant jusqu'à toi des routes inconnues,

Die Sterne entschwinden aus den Gärten der Nacht -
goldene Bienen, von unsichtbarem Honig angelockt;
Und die Morgendämmerung, die in der Ferne ihre reine Leinwand spannt,
durchwirkt mit Silberfäden den blauen Mantel des Himmels.
Aus dem traumtrunkenen Garten meines Herzens
entschwinden meine Wünsche beim Nahen des Morgens
wie ein duftiger Schwarm, der dem kupfernen Horizont
ein klagendes Lied zuruft, ewig und fern.
Sie fliegen zu deinen Füßen, Sterne, vom Himmel verjagt,
vertrieben aus dem goldenen Himmel, wo deine Schönheit blüht;
Sie suchen unbekannte Wege zu dir
und mischen ihr ersterbendes Licht mit dem erwachenden Tag.
