Ich kniete nieder zum Gebet und wandte
Den Blick zum Himmel: doch ich sah nur immer
Die Brauen deiner Augen, - stets nur sie.

Die Schönheit dieser kleinen Himmelsbogen
Nahm völlig mir die Aussicht auf den großen,
Azurenen Himmelsbogen Allahs. Lächelnd,

Ganz außerstande, meinen Geist zu sammeln,
Erhob ich mich und ließ das Beten sein.
