Fyrstens straalende Øjne slukte,
Kongens Bryst af Sværdet kløvet,
Gudrun tilbage paa Bolstret segned,
Lokkerne løstes, Kinden rødmed,
Taarer som Regn randt over Knæ.
Da græd Gudrun, Gjukes Datter,
saa Taarerne løb fra Øjets Laag.
