Der Spitzbub in den Aug'n
und ih lass' mir's nit nehma, a Spitzbub' sitzt drin.

The cute rogue in her eyes
Language: English  after the German (Lower Austrian)
My lass has eyes, blue as the sky,
and I get anxious whenever I've looked into them.
It flickers and flames there, rolls to and fro,
and you won't talk me out of it: there's a rogue in them.
This cute rogue I know quite well,
look at me and see, what he does to people.
He grants me neither rest nor repose,
I must always take a look into her window.
I have taste for neither soup nor pie,
he reaches out of her eyes and reaches into my heart,
he drives me and will not put an end to it,
before too long I'll go with her to the parson.
