Der Himmel ist so weit und hehr, Die Heide ist so menschenleer; Tief in ihr junges Grün hinein Leg ich der Toten den Strauß hinein Im Deingedenken. Wie muß in dieser Welt allein Dein Herz so gut gewesen sein Und tapfer und lieben Wollens voll, Das in sein Blut hinüber-quoll Zu reichem Leben.
