Der Flug der Zeit
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Es floh die Zeit im Wirbelfluge
Und trug des Lebens Plan mit sich.
Wohl stürmisch war es auf dem Zuge,
Beschwerlich oft und widerlich.

So ging es fort durch alle Zonen,
Durch Kinderjahre, [Jugendglück]1,
Durch Thäler, wo die Freuden wohnen,
Die sinnend sucht der Sehnsucht Blick.

Bis an der Freundschaft lichtem Hügel
Die Zeit nun sanfter, stiller flog,
Und endlich da die raschen Flügel
In süßer Ruh zusammenbog.

De vlucht van de tijd
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
De Tijd vloog heen in wentelbogen
En droeg het levensplan bij zich.
Veel stormen werden er doorvlogen,
Vaak was 't niet leuk, zelfs akelig.

Hij trok door alle regionen,
Door kinderjaren, door jeugdgeluk,
Door dalen waar de vreugden wonen,
Waarop Verlangen is zo tuk.

Tot Tijd nabij de lichte heuvels
Der Vriendschap zachter, stiller vloog,
En eind'lijk daar de snelle vleugels
Bedaard en kalm tezamenboog.
