Vaig fer-me mal, i mentre caminava pels camps, vaig veure una papallona, de color tan blanc i vermell fosc, voleiant a l’aire blau. Oh tu! Al temps de la infantesa, quan el món era encara tan clar com el matí i el cel era encara tan proper, et vaig veure per darrera vegada estenent les teves formoses ales. Tu, acolorit i suau hàlit que m’arribà del paradís, que aliè i avergonyit haig de restar, amb els ulls abatuts, davant el teu profund esclat diví! La blanca i vermella papallona fou empesa devers els camps, i mentre jo seguia el meu camí, va romandre en mi una plàcida lluïssor del paradís.
