Da sitz' ich und weine Und harre allein, Und fort ist mein Liebster Wol über den Rhein. Es rauschen die Winde, Das Vögelein eilt; Will keines mir sagen, Ach! wo er jetzt weilt. O hätt' ich ein Ränzlein, Am Hütlein ein Band; Könnte fort wie ein Bursche, Den Stock in der Hand! Wollte gehen und wandern Land aus und Land ein, Bis daß ich ihn hätte, Den Herzigen mein! So muß ich jetzt harren Im einsamen Haus; Schau' über die Wege Und Berge hinaus. Und tritt was im Gange, Und rauscht was zur Seit', Gleich mein' ich, er komm', und Er ist doch so weit!
