Und alle Blätter im Grödner Thal,
Eh' daß Du meines Herzens Klopfen
Verstündest und der Sehnsucht Qual.
Umsonst such' ich in Deinen Blicken
Durch Deiner langen Wimpern Nicken
Nach einer Hoffnung Sonnenstrahl.

Und wenn ich Deiner nur gedenke,
Wie wird es mir im Busen heiß! 
Doch still aus dieses Thales Senke 
Brech' ich mir bald das letzte Reis.
Fahr wohl! und daß Dich Gott behüte 
In Deiner sternenkeuschen Blüthe,
Du felsumgürtet Edelweiß!
