by (Stephanie) Hélène Swarth (1859 - 1941)

In 't donker
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Het wordt zoo donker om mij heen,
O liefste, laat mij niet alleen!

Ik heb zoo lang op u gewacht
En, nu gij komt, nu daalt de nacht.

Ik voel uw adem op mijn wang;
Zoo is 't mij wel, 'k ben niet meer bang.

Als ik uwe oogen stralen zie,
Wordt heel mijn wezen harmonie.

Mijn hand ligt veilig in uw hand,
Uw liefde is mij een vaderland.

Confirmed with Hélène Swarth, Sneeuwvlokken, P.N. van Kampen & zoon, Amsterdam 1888 p.24
