Humilment truco de nou a la teva porta i entro al teu estimat jardí, allà flairo les preuades flors de la meva joventut una altra vegada amb agusats sentits. Ençà, de la meva joventut, flaireja l’entusiasme de les encisadores hores de lectura, però mai com ara, en el sofriment, he sentit l’íntima vàlua de l’estimada poesia. Des de fresques grutes, el fervor de les flors i un dolç deler recorden llur cançó al meu cor, i el que altrament fa tant de mal, esdevé sagrat; la poesia em fa senyals, i el dolor aprèn a somriure.
