Muß es eine Trennung geben
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): DUT ENG FRE ITA TUR
Muß es eine Trennung geben,
Die das treue Herz zerbricht?
Nein, dies nenne ich nicht leben,
Sterben ist so bitter nicht.

Hör' ich eines Schäfers Flöte,
Härme ich mich inniglich,
Seh' ich in die Abendröte,
Denk' ich brünstiglich an dich.

Gibt es denn kein wahres Lieben?
Muß denn Schmerz und [Trauer]1 sein?
Wär' ich ungeliebt geblieben,
Hätt' ich doch noch Hoffnungsschein.

Aber so muß ich nun klagen:
Wo ist Hoffnung, als das Grab?
Fern muß ich mein Elend tragen,
Heimlich bricht das Herz mir ab.

Deve quindi esserci una separazione
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Deve quindi esserci una separazione,
che spezza il cuore fedele?
No, questa non la chiamo vita,
nemmeno la morte è così amara.

Se ascolto il flauto di un pastore,
mi accoro nel mio intimo,
se contemplo un tramonto,
penso a te con tutto me stesso.

Non c'è dunque un amore autentico?
Devono esistere sempre amore e separazione?
Se almeno non fossi stato amato,
avrei ancora un barlume di speranza.

Ma così mi tocca ora lamentarmi:
dov'è la speranza , se non nella tomba?
Porterò con me la mia sventura, lontano,
dentro di me il cuore si spezza.
