For en dæmpet serenade, Du! Du!
Medens nattevinden suser
Sagte i jasminers blade.

Maanen seiler guldbeg gjennem
Lette skyslørs matte flammer,
Aander alvefine straaler
Mellem havens tause stammer. Du! Du!
Jeg vil bede maanelyset
Stryge stilt ind i dit kammer.

Der er kun én fugl, som synger,
Dæmpet, lokkende histude,
Medens maanestraaler varsomt
Glider om din hvide pude. Du! Du!
Jeg vil bede fuglen nynne
Hele natten ved din rude.

Alle roser og jasminer  -
Hvor de dufter allesteder.
Og igjennem juninatten
Deres sødme blødt sig breder. Du! Du!

Sur une élégante mandoline
aux rangées de brillantes cordes d'argent,
je veux jouer pour toi, mon amour,
une douce sérénade, toi ! toi !
tandis que le vent de la nuit murmure
doucement dans les feuilles des jasmins.

Une lune d’or navigue parmi les flammes ternes
des légers voiles de nuages
et répand ses rayons fins comme ceux des elfes
entre les arbres silencieux du jardin. Toi ! Toi !
Je demanderai à la lumière de la lune
de glisser doucement dans ta chambre.

Il n'y a qu'un seul oiseau qui chante,
là-bas, d'une voix étouffée et attirante,
tandis qu’avec précaution les rayons de lune
glissent autour de ton oreiller blanc. Toi ! Toi !
Je demanderai à l'oiseau de fredonner
toute la nuit près de ta fenêtre.

Comme les roses et les jasmins
embaument partout !
Et tout au long de la nuit de juin
s’étend délicatement leur douceur. Toi ! Toi !
