lockt und löst aus Traum und Schweigen
süße Melodie.

Liebesgeige, alles schönen,
alles tiefsten Zaubers reich,
Schmerz und Schmerzen zu versöhnen,
stimmst du mit den Silbertönen
Herz zu Herzen weich.

Und ich hör' dein Liedchen singen,
wie ein Hauch, ein Seufzer nur,
schwirrt es, und die Lüfte klingen
zärtlich unter seinen Schwingen,
Viola d'amour!

de somnis i silencis atraus i acordes
dolces melodies.

Viola d’amor, rica del més bell,
del més profund encís,
per conciliar penes i dolors,
parles amb sons d’argent
per entendrir els cors.

I jo sento sonar el teu cant,
com un alè, un sospir tan sols,
brunzeix, i l’aire ressona
tendrament sota les seves ales,
viola d’amor!
