by Christian Morgenstern (1871 - 1914)

Es gibt ein Gespenst
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es gibt ein Gespenst,
das frisst Taschentücher,
es begleitet dich
auf deinen Reisen,
es frisst dir aus dem Koffer,
aus dem Bett,
aus dem Nachttisch,
wie ein Vogel
aus der Hand.
Mit 18 Tüchern,
stolzer Segler,
fährst du hinaus
aufs Meer der Fremde,
mit acht bis sieben
kehrst du zurück,
ein Gram der Hausfrau.
Wehe, wehe,
nie sah ein Auge
den scheußlichen Alf,
doch tausend Tücher
schlingt er allnächtlich
in seinen
weltweit
verteilten
Bauch.
