Die Tochter:
Mutter, mag auch weit der Spatz
Flieh'n vor meinem Singen,
Fürcht' ich doch, es wird den Schatz
Um so näher bringen.
Die Mutter:
Freilich, für so dreisten Gauch
Braucht es einer Scheuche,
Warte nur, ich komme auch
In die Beerensträuche!
Die Tochter:
Mutter, nein, das hat nicht Not:
Beeren, schau, sind teuer,
Doch der Küsse, reif und rot,
Gibt es viele heuer!

Canta, filla, fort i clar,
canta a plena veu,
perquè el vol de pardals
no ens prengui totes les baies!
La filla:
Mare, encara que el meu cant
faci espantar els pardals,
em temo que farà venir
més a prop el meu tresor.
La mare:
Certament, per a aital atrevit tanoca
cal un espantall,
espera un moment, jo vindré també
vers els matolls de baies!
La filla:
Mare, no, no cal que vinguis:
mira, de baies no n’hi ha gaires,
però de besades, madures i roges,
n’hi ha a dojo aquest any!
