La reina: (suplicant)
Oh, no ho interpretis tan severament,
els cantaires tan sols honoren el mestre
que ha compost aquesta cançó.

El rei:
Fora d’aquí! Fora d’aquí!

La reina:
Però abans que marxin, concedeix-me
encara un desig, escoltar una cançó
que m’agrada de la meva primera joventut,
“Renúncia” s’anomenava:
(al jovencell)
tu, cantaire, de ben segur coneixes la cançó!
