Je dirai la rose aux plis gracieux.
La rose est le souffle embaumé des Dieux,
Le plus cher souci des Muses divines !
Je dirai ta gloire, ô charme des yeux,
Ô fleur de Kypris, reine des collines !
Tu t'épanouis entre les beaux doigts
De l'Aube écartant les ombres moroses ;
L'air bleu devient rose, et roses les bois ;
La bouche et le sein des vierges sont roses ! 
Heureuse la vierge aux bras arrondis 
Qui dans les halliers humides te cueille !
Heureux le front jeune où tu resplendis !
Heureuse la coupe où nage ta feuille !
Ruisselante encor du flot paternel,
Quand de la mer bleue Aphrodite éclose
Étincela nue aux clartés du ciel,
La Terre jalouse enfanta la rose ;
Et l'Olympe entier, d'amour transporté,
Salua la fleur avec la Beauté !

Parlaré de la rosa de gràcils plecs.
La rosa és l’hàlit perfumat dels Déus,
l’afany més estimat de les Muses divines!
Parlaré de la teva glòria, oh encís dels ulls,
oh flor de Cipris, reina dels tossals!
T’esbadelles entre els formosos dits 
de l’Alba foragitant les ombres moroses;
l’aire blau esdevé rosa, i rosa els boscos;
rosa són la boca i el pit de les verges!
Feliç és la verge de rodanxons braços
que a les maleses humides et cull!
Feliç el jove front on tu resplendeixes!
Feliç la copa on neda la teva fulla!
Regalimant encara de les aigües paternals,
quan Afrodita de la mar blava desclosa,
espurnejà nua a la claredat del cel,
la terra gelosa engendrà la rosa;
i l’Olimp sencer, d’amor exaltat,
saludà la flor i amb ella la Beutat!
