Lluna d’argent, amb pàl·lida resplendor,
sovint emblanquines els boscos i els camps,
dones a les muntanyes, dones a les valls,
sospirs de sentiment.
Sigues confident de les meves penes,
tu que navegues a l’oceà dels aires:
digues-li, a la que porto al meu cor
com m’està matant la pena d’amor.
Digues-li que des de mil milles
per ella sospira el meu cor.
“Cap distància el pot guarir,
només el teu amorós esguard.”
Digues-li que, ferida de mort,
aquesta despulla aviat es descompondrà;
tan sols una falaguera esperança
la podria salvar.
