Voi cari muri amici e familiari, che mi circondate con la vostra frescura, e mi osservate con argentei bagliori, quando in alto è piena la luna! Una volta mi avete visto triste, con la testa fra le mani stanche, quando guardavo in me stesso soltanto, e nessuno mi stava accanto. Ora è spuntata una nuova luce, e il tempo della tristezza è passato, e molti percorrono con me questa strada attraverso il santuario della vita. Il fato non li sottrarrà mai al mio sentimento fedele, li porto nel profondo del cuore là il fato non ha alcun potere. Voi muri mi pensate ancora triste, ma la mia è una gioia tranquilla; quando al chiaro di luna splendete, allora il mio cuore si gonfia. Immagino presso ogni finestra, il cenno di un capo amico, che poi guarda pure in cielo, e anche di me si dà pensiero.
