Der Abendstern
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): DUT ENG FRE
der Liebe Stern, in stiller goldner Pracht;

bringt dir sein Leuchten meinen Liebesgruss;
in seinen Strahlen nahet mir dein Kuss,
in jenem Stern,
in jenem Stern beseligend entfalten."

The evening star
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
I left her;
it stood in deep blue the love star,
in quiet golden splendor;
She spoke: "Pure like the star,
that now awakes now, is my love,
is my love, which I always dedicate to you.

If this star
Which appears far from me,
brings you my shining love's greeting;
in its rays my kiss approaches you,
we are one,
as in the loving light, we are joined in love.

We are separated now
By Earth's dark forces,
In the heavens is where our love is,
This dream of life begins and ends,
On that star,
Blissfully consummated on that star."
