Allà els animals parlen tan assenyats com els homes, allà les flors acoten el cap i canten, allà hi ha menjar i joguines suficients per riure i ballar i saltar, i les més boniques nines i anelles i boles i cuirasses i llances i garrots, allà ocells guimben en gàbies de cristall i peixets dins d’aquàriums d’argent. En una esplèndida sala, damunt d’un tron d’or, rodejat de gent joiosa, seu el fill d’un rei amb cabells rossos arrissats i al costat la princesa, la seva promesa; molts xicots trapelles i noies molt boniques s’agafen de la mà i condueixen la dansa, i sempre i sempre hi ha un so encantador de címbals i arpes i violins.
