Gleich lacht dich alles sonnig an
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
  Gleich lacht dich Alles sonnig an,
Wallt dir nur frisch das Blut;
Hinab, hinan
Auf jeder Bahn
Stehst du in Gottes Hut,
Und stets noch hat
An schönster Statt
Geruht ein kecker Muth!

  Bring selber nur dem grünen Wald
Ein Lied im stillen Grund,
Horch, wie's dir bald
Entgegen schallt
Hellfreudig in der Rund,
Und singen mit
Auf Schritt und Tritt
Die Vöglein all im Bund!

  Sein Leben lang mag heiter sein,
Wem's tief im Herzen glüht;
Jahr aus, Jahr ein
Im hellsten Schein
Wie's klingt und grünt und blüht!
Bitt jeden Tag,
Was kommen mag,
Nur um ein froh Gemüth!

Soon everything shall smile sunnily upon you!
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
  Soon everything shall smile sunnily upon you,
If only your blood flows briskly;
Downwards, upwards
Upon every path,
You are in God's care,
And always yet
In the loveliest place,
A bold spirit has rested.

  Only [see to it that] you bring a song
To the green forest in its quiet depths,
Harken, how soon
It echoes back to you
With bright joy from all around,
And with every step you take
The birdlets all
Sing along in solidarity!

  He who carries a glow deep within his heart,
May be blithe his whole life long;
Year-in, year-out
In the brightest radiance,
How everything resounds and grows green and blooms!
Ask every day,
Whatever may come,
Only for a happy spirit!
