Translation Singable translation by Wilhelm Henzen (1850 - 1910)

Vantru, tvil og tunge tankar
Language: Norwegian (Nynorsk)
Vantru, tvil og tunge tankar
skynar eg meg inkje paa;
liti gröda visst dei sankar,
inkje fram gang mun dei faa.

Vantru, tvil i desse tider
kven kan gi seg inn paa slikt?
Livsens flaum i alle tider!
Livet er det fagrast' dikt.

Sæle me, som no fær liva!
Sæl kvar den som einast trur;
han eig magti som kan driva vokster
fram i nord og sör.

Framtid ingen annan eiger,
det skal dei vel snart faa sjaa.
Andre trælar som paa leige,
frikar einast han mun gaa.

Mistraun, Zweifel und Bedenken
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Norwegian (Nynorsk)
Mistraun, Zweifel und Bedenken,
Die sind meine Sache nicht.
Weil sie nicht zum Glück mich lenken,
Leist' ich gern darauf Verzicht.

Wer nimmt wohl in diesen Zeiten,
Zweifel, Misstraun sich zum Ziel?
Leben ist, wer will's bestreiten,
Stets das wundervollste Spiel.

Gott sei Dank! Ich darf noch leben
Und ich habe frisch Vertraun.
Das kann rechten Mut uns geben,
Uns durch Dick und Dünn zu haun.

Zukunft ist uns so zu eigen,
und kein Zweifel kommt uns an.
Mögen Knechte schlaff sich zeigen,
Allzeit mutig ist der Mann.

From the Sinding score.
