Nun im Schrein in der Erde Tiefe liegt Gretchen hold. Gab ich ihr eine Haube, prangend von rothem Gold. Nun in dem schwarzen Sarge liegt sie, so schmuck und fein, Kalt auf glänzendem Leinen liegen die Hände klein. Einsam sitz' ich hier im Dunkel Sturmwind erschüttert die Luft, alle Blumen die bricht er im Flug von Grtetchens Gruft.
