Si le ciel n'a pas pris les fleurs de mon jardin
Pour en faire ses astres.

A breath of shade dyes the roses of the bank
And the lilies of the flowerbed
All the foliage is black in the solitary garden
Where the flowers are no more.
But the night decorates with gold its dome and its pilasters
And I dream, uncertain,
If the sky did not take the flowers of my garden
To make its celestial bodies.
