Nur eine Wachtel schlug im Feld, Da ich vorüberging, Nur eine [leise]1 Glocke rief, Die hoch im Turme hing. Verhallt die wirre Menschenlust, Der wunde Menschenschrei. So still der Wald! Es rauscht der [Fluß]2 Mit [Murmelklang]3 vorbei. Ein lautlos feuchter Uferwind [Entfacht dein]4 Blut mit Macht, Und [die verlorne]5 Liebe ruft [Beweglich]6 durch die Nacht.
