Die Linde spannt ihr grünes Netz,
Aus Rosen tönt des Bachs Geschwätz;
Die Blätter röthet Sonnengold,
Und Alles ist der Freude hold.

Liane fährt auf einem Kahn,
Vertraute Schwäne nebenan.
Sie spielt die Laute, singt ein Lied,
Wie Liebe in ihr selig blüht.

Das Schifflein schwanket, wie es will.
Sie senkt das Haupt, und denket still

Liane

Door struik en hagen rent hij voort
En komt zo bij haar liev'lingsoord.
 
De linde spant haar groene net,
Het beekje kletst in 't rozenbed;
Het zonnegoud kleurt blaren rood,
In alle ding heerst vreugde groot.
 
Liane vaart daar in een boot,
Omringd door 'n trouwe zwanenvloot.
Zij speelt de luit en zingt een lied,
Hoe zaal'ge liefde zij geniet.
 
Het bootje schommelt zo het wil,
Zij buigt het hoofd, en denkt heel stil
Aan hem, die in de bosjes staat
En weldra haar omhelzen gaat.
