Sein muntres Horn so hell erschallt,
trari, trara, trari!
Hei, hüpfen da die Hasen,
die Rehlein springen mit!
Was braucht der Herr zu blasen?
Ein Jäger tut das nicht!

Da weht ein roter Rock im Wind,
halli, halli, halli!
Das ist für wahr ein schönes Kind,
trari, trara, trari!
Zum Teufel Reh und Hasen,
denkt froh der Jägersmann,
viel lieber tu ich blasen,
so laut ich blasen kann.

Un caçador anà cap el bosc,
visca, visca!
El seu alegre corn ressonà ben clar,
tararí, tararà, tararí!
Ei, allà guimben les llebres,
els cabirols salten amb elles!
Què necessita el Senyor per bufar?
Un caçador no fa pas això!

Llavors una faldilla vermella oneja al vent,
visca, visca, visca!
És veritablement una bella criatura,
tararí, tararà, tararí!
Al diable cabirols i llebres,
pensa joiós el caçador,
m’estimo més de bufar 
tan fort com pugui.
