Scheid' ich auch für alle Zeiten:
  Meine Seele scheidet nicht.

Sie ist Dein und hängt im Geiste
  Immerfort an Dir allein,
Wirst du in dem kurzen Leben
  Nimmer auch mein eigen sein.

  Once more down upon me;
Accept from my eyes my soul
  Silently in farewell.

Accept it, it belongs to you,
Whatever the world may think and say;
Though I depart for all time:
