from Volkslieder (Folksongs)
Translation Singable translation by Anonymous / Unidentified Author

Gajdujte, gajdence
Language: Slovak (Slovenčina)
Gajdujte, gajdence,
Pôjde-me k frajerce!
Ej gajdujte vesele,
Ej, že pôjdeme smele!

Zagajduj gajdoše!
Ešte mám dva groše:
Ej, jedon gajdošovi,
A druhý krčmárovi.

To bola kozička,
Čo predok vodila,
Ej, ale už nebude,
Ej nôžky si zlomila.

Tanzlied aus Poniky
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Slovak (Slovenčina)
Hej, die Pfeifen klingen,
kommt im Tanz uns schwingen
Dudelsack, der pfeift euch was,
und den Mädeln macht es Spass.

Pfeift und lasst uns leben,
will zwei Groschen geben,
Wirt, nimm einen in die Hand!
Einen kriegt der Musikant!

Zicklein auf dem Rasen
Dein Fell muss heut' blasen,
Ist das Zicklein nimmer ganz
Spielt der Dudelsack zum Tanz.

From a Bartók score.
