Já jsem ten rytíř z pohádky, jenž hrdě vyjel do světa, abych tu pannu uviděl, jež jako růže vykvétá. O ní šla věst: kdo spatří ji -- ten s kletbou prý to odnese, buď že se v kámen promění, buď že mu srdce vyrve se. I myslil jsem si u sebe: Snad přec jen někdo vyjmutý. A vyjel jsem a za ten hřích teď -- v zpěváka jsem zakletý.
