War der Himmel trüb und schwer
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): FRE ITA
War der Himmel trüb und schwer,
Waren einsam wir so sehr,
Voneinander abgeschnitten!
Aber das ist nun nicht mehr:
Lüfte fließen hin und her;
Und die ganze Welt inmitten
Glänzt, als ob sie gläsern wär.
Sterne kamen aufgegangen,
Flimmern mein - und deinen Wangen,
Und sie wissens auch:
Stark und stärker wird ihr Prangen;
Und wir atmen mit Verlangen,
Liegen selig wie gefangen,
Spüren eins des andern Hauch.

Fosco e opprimente era il cielo
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Fosco e opprimente era il cielo,
ciascuno di noi stava solo,
dall'altro ben separato!
Ma ora tutto è cambiato:
l'aria tutt'intorno ci vola;
E il mondo intero lì al centro
risplende come fosse di vetro.
Le stelle stanno sorgendo,
le guance si stanno infiammando,
e sembrano avvertire attente:
Il loro splendore crescente;
Noi sospiriamo ardenti,
felici l'uno all'altro legati,
scambiamo i nostri fiati.
