Nun lös ich sanft die lieben Hände, Die du mir um den Hals gelegt, Daß ich in deinen Augen finde, Was dir das kleine Herz bewegt. O sieh die Nacht, die wundervolle; In ferne Länder zog der Tag. Der Birke Zischellaub verstummte, Sie horcht dem Nachtigallenschlag. Der weiße Schlehdorn uns zu Häupten, Es ist die liebste Blüte mir; Trenn ab ein Zweiglein, eh wir scheiden, Zu dein und meines Hutes Zier. Laß, Mädchen, uns die Nacht genießen! Allein gehört sie mir und dir. Die Blüte will ich aufbewahren An diese Frühlingsstunde hier.
