Cum caenasset Jesus et dedisset discipulis 
suis corpus suum ad manducandum et sanguinem
suum ad bibendum, exierunt simul in montem Oliveti et ait illis:
«Omnes vos scandalum patiemini in me in ista nocte.
Scriptum est enim: Percutiam pastorem et dispergentur oves gregis».
Tunc Petrus ait illi: «Et si omnes scandalizati 
fuerint in te, nunquam ego scandalizabor».
«Amen, dico tibi Petre quia in hac nocte, 
antequam gallus cantet, ter me negabis.»
«Ah! Domine etiam si oportuerit me mori tecum, non te negabo.»
Cum autem duceretur Jesus ad principem sacerdotum 
sequebatur eum Petrus a longe usque in atrium pontificis,
tunc pervidixerunt ei: 
«Numquid est tu ex discipulis hominis istius es».
«O mulier, non sum, non novi hominem.»
«Vere et tu de ileis et loquela tua manifestum te facit.»
«O homo non sum neque novi quid dicis.»
«Vere tu eras cum Jesu nazareno.»
«Non eram neque scio quid dicitis, non novi hominem.»
Adhuc eo loquente gallus cantavit. 
Et recordatus est Petrus verbi quod dixit ei Jesus,
et egressus foras flevit amare.

Alors Jésus dîna et il donna à ses disciples
son corps à manger et son sang
à boire, ils allèrent ensemble au mont des Oliviers et il leur dit : 
"Vous tous vous souffrirez dans le scandale par moi cette nuit.
En effet il est écrit : Je frapperai le berger et les brebis du troupeau seront dispersées."
Alors Pierre lui dit : "Et si tous seront scandalisés
par toi, moi je ne serai jamais scandalisé."
"Amen, je te dis, Pierre, que cette nuit,
avant que le coq chante, trois fois tu me renieras."
"Ah ! Seigneur, même si je dois mourir avec toi , je ne te renierai pas."
Alors que Jésus était conduit chez le grand prêtre
Pierre le suivit de loin jusqu'à la salle d'entrée du pontife,
alors ils le remarquèrent :
"N'es-tu pas un des disciples de cet homme ?"
"Ô femme, je ne le suis pas, je ne connais pas cet homme."
"Vraiment tu es l'un d'eux et ta parole en fait une preuve."
"Ô homme, je ne le suis pas et je ne comprends pas ce que tu dis."
"Vraiment tu étais avec Jésus le nazaréen."
"Je n'y étais pas et je ne sais pas ce que tu dis, je ne connais pas cet homme."
Il parlait encore quand le coq chanta. 
Et Pierre se rappela les paroles que Jésus lui avait dites,
et sorti dehors il pleura amèrement.
