Labetrank der Liebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Wenn im Spiele leiser Töne
Meine kranke Seele schwebt,
Und der Wehmuth süße Thräne
Deinem warmen Blick [entbebt]1:

Sink' ich dir bey sanftem Wallen
Deines Busens sprachlos hin;
Engelmelodien schallen,
Und der Erde [Schatten]2 fliehn!

So in Eden hingesunken,
Lieb' mit Liebe umgetauscht,
Küsse lispelnd, Wonnetrunken,
Wie von Seraphim umrauscht:

Reichst du mir im Engelbilde
Liebewarmen Labetrank,
Wenn im schnöden Staubgefilde
Schmachtend meine Seele sank.

De lavende drank der liefde
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Als in 't spel van zachte tonen
Mijn gekwelde ziel opleeft,
En een traan van weemoed schone
Uit jouw lieve ogen beeft1,

Zink ik bij het zacht bewegen
Van jouw boezem spraakloos weg;
Eng'lenzang daalt neer als zegen,
Donk're wolken vluchten weg.

Zo in diep geluk verzonken,
Elkaar minnend onbesuisd,
Kussen lisp'lend, vreugdedronken,
Als door engelen omruist,

Reikte jij, een serafijne,
Mij ter laving liefdes dronk,
Toen in barre stofwoestijnen
Smachtend eens mijn ziel verzonk.

1 Dit vrij zweverige gedicht heb ik uit persoonlijke voorkeur in wat meer concrete beelden vertaald.
