Herbst
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG FRE
Astern blühen schon im Garten,
Schwächer trifft der Sonnenpfeil.
Blumen, die den Tod erwarten
Durch des Frostes Henkerbeil.
Brauner dunkelt längst die Haide,
Blätter zittern durch die Luft.
Und es liegen Wald und Weide
Unbewegt in blauem Duft.
Pfirsich an der Gartenmauer,
Kranich auf der Winterflucht.
Herbstes Freuden, Herbstes Trauer,
Welke Rosen, reife Frucht.

Automne
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Des asters fleurissent déjà dans le jardin,
Le flèches du soleil tapent plus faiblement ;
Des fleurs qui attendent la mort
De la hache du bourreau.
Depuis longtemps la lande tourne au marron,
Des feuilles tremblent dans l'air,
Et forêts et pâturages s'étendent
Immobiles dans une senteur bleue.
Une pêche contre le mur du jardin,
Une grue en migration,
Joies de l'automne, tristesse de l'automne,
Roses fanées, fruits mûrs.
