Die Malve
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
Wieder hab ich dich gesehen,
Blasse Malve! blühst du schon?
Ja! mich traf ein schaurig Wehen,
All mein Frühling welkt davon.
Bist du doch des Herbstes Rose,
Der gesunknen Sonne Kind,
Bist die starre, düftelose,
Deren Blüten keine sind.

Gerne wollt' ich dich begrüßen,
Blühtest du nicht rosenfarb,
Lögst du nicht das Rot der Süßen,
Die noch eben glüht' und starb.
Heuchle nicht des Lenzes Dauer!
Du bedarfst des Scheines nicht;
Hast ja schöne, dunkle Trauer,
Hast ja weißes, sanftes Licht.

La mauve
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Je t'ai vue de nouveau,
Pâle mauve ! Fleuris-tu déjà ?
Oui ! Je fus frappée d'un mal épouvantable
Qui a fané tout mon printemps.
Tu es bien la rose de l'automne,
L'enfant du soleil défaillant,
Tu es la transie, l'inodore
Dont les fleurs n'en sont pas.

Je te saluerais volontiers
Si tu ne fleurissais de ce rose,
Si tu ne parodiais le rouge de la douce
Qui brillait encore et passa.
Pas d'hypocrisie avec la durée du printemps,
Tu n'as pas eu besoin de sa lumière ;
Puisque tu as une belle et sombre tristesse,
Puisque tu as une blanche et douce lumière.
