 Aus Lapplands Höhlen schreitet her
 der stürmischdüst're Winter jetzt.
 Vor seinem Tritt' erstarrt 
 in banger Stille die Natur.

 Licht und Leben sind geschwächet;
 Wärm' und Freude sind verschwunden.
 Unmutsvollen Tagen folget
