by Robert Eduard Prutz (1816 - 1872)

Ich habe die Blumen, die kleinen,...
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich habe die Blumen, die kleinen, gegrüßt,
Auf die dein Auge gelächelt,
Die Lüfte hab' ich, die leeren, geküßt,
Die deine Wange gefächelt.

Die kleinen Blumen im Abendthau
Sahen mich an erschrocken,
Es fuhr der Nachtwind kalt und rauh
Mir durch die flatternden Locken.

Nun in der Seele geheimsten Grund
Versenk' ich mein Seufzen und Sehnen,
Es leuchten die Sterne vom ewigen Rund,
Und ich entschlummer' in Thränen.
