Once while meditating I saw, decorating a girl with matchless honour 
(for she kept herself chaste),
Gifts which seemed worthy of her own divine holiness;
She would bear a son, shining with great splendour,
The fair and true child of the highest Thunderer,
Who will govern the world under his peace-bringing authority.

Translator's note for line 5: "the highest Thunderer" - the Greek/Roman god Zeus/Jove or Jupiter.
